Stop the Process From the DOS Prompt

To stop the processes (applications and services) that are running on Windows I'm sure you often do it from the Windows Task Manager.

Besides these ways, there are other ways you can do that is with the DOS Prompt. The trick is as follows:


Go to dos prompt by typing cmd from the Start menu - Run.
Write tasklist and hit enter, it will show a list of running processes such as the image below:

Find the name of the process that you want to stop, then look for its PID number.
Suppose you want to stop the Firefox program, then wrote: tskill 1844, then hit enter.
